The Victorinox cuts the softest bread, tomato or sandwich with ease, without collapsing or squishing. It is also very good for all kinds of meat and cold cuts. We highly recommend it. This the second Victorinox bread knife we owned. The first was also very good, but is no longer made. We owned it almost 20 yrs before the serrations disapeared due to sharping.
