You don't have the option but I'd give it 4.5 stars. The 18" are just the length for the kind of work I use it for. I find the weight and the weight distribution to help a lot when cutting brush. I haven't used the saw part yet but I am not concerned; I am sure it'll work fine. I find the handle a bit too small/short for my hand during certain swings. While the handle is nicely rounded at the upper end, it still manages to get into the palm of the hand and to be a little uncomfortable. I still do recommend this machete!!
