I picked this knife for its durability and what I hoped would be quality. I am not disappointed. This is a well made knife with good balance.

It is made of very good quality!

It is a very good knife to have!

This is a sturdy machete with a lot of heft to it. However, the blade seems dull. Was I supposed to sharpen it before first use? I used to have a machete that really whacked stuff, right off the bat. But when I used this one on honeysuckle vines, it seemed that I had to bludgeon the vines by sheer force of weight of the knife, rather than cut them with the sharpness of the blade. If this model knife truly hacked through Africa, it must have been slow going. I intend to get it professionally sharpened, if I can, and see if it does any better. Otherwise I'm in the market for a machete more like my previous one.
