Wilton Armetale® products are cast using a painstaking process called sand molding, where an impression formed in sand is filled with the molten Armetale® metal. A select number of items are made in a similar fashion, using die casting.

I own 3 other plates just like the new one I purchased, they are around 20 years old and look just beautiful! They were gifts to my children, perfect, a plate they could use and never break! I display them all the time. I was so happy to find that I could buy one for my first grandson.
