This "Canoe Hatchet" as it is named, is exactly what I was looking for. It is not the smallest, lightest Hatchet made... and likewise, it's not at all as heavy as even a small Axe. But, it can do what both are made for. The large blade edge and 'finger grip' handle allow you to go through small trees with no problem, yet it handles comfortably as a camp/pac axe for small jobs. The combined size-weight-balance-hand grip, are excellent! This is a very solid Hatchet at a fair price.
