Pine Grove state park in the state of Pennsylvania is located in the south-central region of the state. It is a scenic park area that lies on the northern part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. For those who are enthusiastic about following the Appalachian Trail, they will also find it running through the forest area here which is known to be one of the famous foot trails in the world.
This trail covers a distance of 2186 miles which many people attempt to cover. About two to three million walks a portion of this trail every year. Besides having walked about this area, you will find about seventy trailer sites and tents. These are available from the middle of December to late March. Reservations can also be made, even up to 11 months before. Overnight hikes or backpacking is not permitted in this area. Water hookups, as well as electrical connections, are available that can be used for a fee. There is no entrance fee that you need to pay at the campsites in such areas. The campgrounds stay open from April till the month of December. River camping as well as backpacking come at a nominal fee and so does campsite reservations.
